From Publishers Weekly Hafner, a recovering alcoholic herself, compiled these interviews with 20 recovering women alcoholics because she felt that they could serve as examples and their voices needed to be heard. Society, she argues, looks more critically at women drinkers than at men, and women are more afraid of being caught and seeking help. The stories her subjects tell, harrowing yet hopeful, partially confirm her theory that it's different for women. Many women alcoholics, like men, have abusive and alcoholic parents, but other factors, like addictions to food and Valium, seem more common among women drinkers. Most interviewees swear by Alcoholics Anonymous, though several note problems: an ex-prostitute met her old tricks at an AA meeting; an Army wife says it's hard to "talk about hormone problems, or living with a male alcoholic." I purchased this for a 09 corolla, as this manual states it's for 2003-2011. I found this to be a revelatory book. This manual was prepared as an aid to basic training in mobile hydraulics. The only drawback is that it was published in 2003, so the last two years worth of results are not documented. This book is filled with grammatical errors, incomplete sentences and typographic errors! Apparently the author is not a native English speaker, and the publisher didn't bother to proofread the manuscript. And then, I began to realize, that's the point. Wish I could afford one of the cars in these pictures!. I am not an alcoholic. The reality of addiction, as terrible as it is, is not the demonic thing we outsiders have made it.
